I buy a lot of records. This project is a chance for me to talk about the new music that’s been crossing my turntable. I love the experience of listening to a record: how the songs are sequenced and split across the sides of the vinyl, the large-scale artwork and other little touches that bands and labels can add to the physical experience.
This project is focused on reviewing the entire experience of an analog music release, everything from the music to the packaging to the actual vinyl itself. I will primarily be focused on vinyl, with the occasional tape thrown in when something really excites me. The only rule is, it’s gonna be analog. No digital releases considered, no download links provided… there are plenty of other blogs for that.
Here are some of my favorite places to buy records, odds are a lot of the material covered on this site came from one of these sources:
Feral Ward
20 Buck Spin
Hells Headbangers
Nuclear War Now
Sorry State
Grave Mistake
